When I joined as an early bird back in 2008, the team was obviously still small, but we formed a great team blending the experiences of people with different backgrounds and skill sets. We knew each other well from various customer project assignments, even though we previously worked for a mixture of larger and local consulting firms. In fact, our chemistry was at such a level that the idea surfaced to work together even closer: to truly become ONE.
Gradually, more colleagues joined us (and sadly a few left us, but that is how it goes). Soon, the ONE team really started to add value for customers by helping each other out and sharing knowledge to provide break-through solutions. Typically, new colleagues are quickly adopted by the team and properly guided to deliver what is needed, while getting the best out of themselves.
We’ve never had an urge to grow quickly. Potential new colleagues only join us based on their skill set and, more importantly, who they are as a person. I really appreciate this approach.
The chemistry mentioned above also kicks-in (and is deepened) by our social events. On countless occasions we have had so much fun – and I know we will continue to enjoy each other’s company in the future. Whether it is our Christmas dinner or our annual ONE weekend (with partners) exploring beautiful places around Europe, I have always found our social interactions to be extremely important. Time flies by at such events, but it is always so re-energizing. Our monthly get-togethers are often combined with a fun activity, such as bowling or a golf clinic. ONE is all about the people – and it shows!
